This year, once again, I have decided to let my clients help me a bit in giving back-- just a little.
It is only natural for me as a photographer to photograph the beauty in every child. I try to bring out their best. I want you to remember your child as that beautiful person they are-- both inside and out. I know I tend to focus on their eyes as the old cliche' says, "The eyes are the window to the soul" . If you look at my site, you may have noticed this and the many, many aesthetically beautiful children. However, not all children are so lucky to be born with those so called "perfect" features...
What if you or your child had to live life with a deformity that stares everyone in the face every time they look at you? We would all like to think we could rise above this- to look beyond the physical and into the heart, the soul of a person. Unfortunately, this is sometimes a difficult thing to do. It may make us uncomfortable or have pity. Can you imagine how that child feels, or the mother of that child?
Mary Kelly photography will once again donate a % of regular session fees to a favorite charity- Smile Network International. A simple $500 donation can change the life of a child forever. The posted photos were taken from an article in Minneapolis - St Paul Magazine showing the before and after of one of these life changing surgeries.
I think it is amazing what this organization and these volunteers do. Wouldn't you agree?
